…mom created all of the stuffed animals and blankets at home on her sewing machine.
She has been creating for her grandkids for more than 20 years!
We knew very quickly that we would need a manufacturer, so with my husband’s help (he ran logistics and warehousing for Walker Edison Furniture for 10 years), we started the process.
We sent patterns to 5 different manufacturers to see who could follow mom’s instructions and match mom’s originals best. We received some pretty funny results including this guy…the big BIG Buddie.
He can’t sit on a shelf because his feet are so dang heavy! 😂
This process worked for us though because we were able to find someone that could make mom’s stuffed animals true to her original creations.
And now we get to share them all with you!
Just as it’s so interesting that we could get wildly different samples from the exact same patterns and pictures, we also get wildly different children from the same mom and dad.
Are your children all the same?
I didn’t think so.
My first born and second born couldn’t be more opposite in their personalities.
And more than that…we have 7 kids with different personalities and needs and experiences. So much so that I often feel overwhelmed trying to figure out how to parent each one.
Why didn’t they come with manuals?!
I’m really great at following directions!
What’s really helped our family though, is the quiet, calm, connecting moments.
And lots and lots of therapy.
But definitely the times we take to listen, to cuddle and to pour in love.
That happens the best when we are engulfed in this Minkie at bedtime.
And surrounded by our Buddies, of course.
You might just find out that your kids aren’t trying to test your patience on purpose…
…they just really forgot to listen to the answer the first 10 times they asked the question. 😂
