…for us, it will forever be the day we discovered that our two *male* bunnies had babies.
SURPRISE!!
There were so many mixed emotions…I felt everything from –
“eeeeek, let me hold it!” to “Noooooooooooooo!”
But, how do I even tell this story?! Where do I even start?! I thought about going back to why we even have two bunnies, buuuut, I’d have to write a book.
So, we’ll just start at yesterday –
We were about to leave to go to my parents’ house for Halloween when my 13-year-old son said, “I just saw a tiny bunny in the bunny cage”.
We all ran out there but there were no signs of a baby bunny.
We thought he was trolling us.
We looked everywhere and tried to look down in the burrow they had dug…but it’s crazy and deep and crazy deep.
We could tell our bunnies were awkwardly trying to guard the burrow, but they’re friendly so they didn’t really know what to do about us invading their privacy.
Eventually we gave up and went up to the driveway to meet up and head out.
While waiting, we sneakily watched the bunny pen and my daughter kept saying she could see something moving underneath the hutch.
I saw nothing.
To prove me wrong, we went back down and looked behind the hutch…and there it was.
The cutest little floof I ever did see.
My son was able to pick it up before it got back down in the hole and I just about died.
With this discovery came so many questions….who is the mom?!?!
It’s Blondie.
How old is this bunny?!
I’m educatedly estimating about 2-3 weeks.
Is this the only one?!
I saw a black one this morning. But they hide in that burrow and there’s no knowing what’s down there!!
How did I not know?!?!
It will take me time to come to terms with this one. That poor mama.
I’m not the biggest fan of surprises that bring both positive and negative emotions….so let’s talk about ones that are only GOOD.
Christmas morning surprises.
Sooo good.
But, what is best is the thought of kiddos waking up to our HuggaBuddie bundles.
